Dan Czarnecki: Next Savarese BJJ breakout candidate?

 

Professor Chris Savarese, owner and leader of Savarese BJJ in Lyndhurst had nothing but great things to say about student Dan Czarnecki. Wanted to shout out my student Dan Czarnecki. Man, I love this guy and his attitude. Dan made a decision about 2 years ago to better himself and life. We did an evaluation w him and he set goals. In 2 years, he went from an overweight 2 stripe bluebelt to a brownbelt and an instructor here. He trains 2x and sometimes 3x a day. He is a new brownbelt and wanted to test himself outside his comfort zone in the gi and do a no-gi match. He asked for a good wrestler so he could test his guard, we found an opponent from a good school and Dan gave his best but came up short. But he was right back last night working with me on the spots when he could have made the match different. No excuses, no sulking, took his loss and will grow.
