Savarese Jiu-Jitsu standout takes 2nd at Girls HS Wrestling States

Savarese jiu-jitsu standout Theresa “Baby T” Zeppetelli took 2nd place at the Girls HS Wrestling State Championship this weekend at 107lbs. In only her 2nd year of wrestling, after her first was cut short by knee surgery, Zeppetelli improved so much that she ran through the season and regions, entering the States as a #2 seed. Her instructor, Professor Chris Savarese, had this to say “Theresa “Baby T†Zeppetelli, words cannot describe how very proud of you I am. Nobody knows what you have overcome to be where you are. The anxiety, fears, smallest one in every room, etc. We lost the final but not the lesson. You will be back better than before next year. I will make sure of it. I just cannot express how proud of this young lady I am. She joined my academy as a little peanut in the left hand corner. Her dad trusted me and my vision, never jumped around and let us do what we do. She had inner battles, family loss, but very slowly, she started to crush every battle. She became the youngest purplebelt I ever gave out. Competed as a 16 yr old and beat one of the best in the country. Decided to take up wrestling to help her BJJ and follow her sister. Crushed that too. Continue what you are doing and you will crush life. Road to gold next year starts today. Let’s go!”
